Character

Name: Django
Source: Boktai (OU)
Type: Player
Canon Point: During the final fight in Boktai 3
History: BAM
Just to change things up for the game: during the final assault against the last boss, Vanargand, Django expended all of his strength to seal the creature away in stone. Though successful, he dies in the process.

Personality: As the son of the legendary vampire hunter Red Ringo, Solar Boy Django works feverishly to follow in his footsteps, entrusted with Ringo’s red scarf and his signature weapon, the Gun del Sol. He is a responsible young man who works his hardest to keep the world a safe place from immortals (what the games also call vampires). Even when things look their worst and it appears as though victory is impossible, the solar boy will continue to fight, leading the way with hope brighter than the sun that gives him strength.

It isn’t the weapon Django wields that brings hope to the people and to the world; it’s the boy that wields the weapon. The solar boy has learned to be adaptable over the course of his journeys. Near the beginning of his second one, his prized and primary weapon of the first game is stolen from him, leaving him to fend off the undead with his fists and basic melee weapons (swords, spears and hammers) which he can later imbue with the power of the sun and other elements. Django handles himself quite well with these weapons, despite being mostly a gunslinger. It’s possible to get through almost the entire game with just his fists, and there’s a lot of respect that needs to be given to the man that can punch ghosts, vampires and Jormungandr’s tongue.

In canon, Django is mostly a mute; he goes through most of his adventures without speaking a single word. Vampires talking him down and bragging of superiority? He’ll just stare them down. Friends and innocents asking for his help or giving him words of encouragement? Django will nod and accept any quest without a doubt. On rare occasions, the solar boy will speak on his own behalf; when he does, he speaks words of encouragement to those lost in doubt, he shares his wisdom with those in need of it, even delving into the philosophical boundaries of light and darkness and how no matter how much he battles the darkness, it’ll always be there to rival the light. It might be easier to think of Django as Silent Bob with the power of the sun…but for the sake of the RP, he’ll be more talkative.

But as Silent Bob is always travelling the world with Jay, Rarely is Django seen without his mentor and partner, Otenko. He is the messenger of the sun who accompanied Ringo during his travels and does the same for Django when it is his time to become the next vampire hunter. During most dialogue when Django is silent, Otenko is the one who speaks for himself and the solar boy. He may be more hot-headed than Django, but as a guide, he is the one that always knows where the solar boy needs to go next. In addition to leading him to his next destination, Otenko aids Django in his battle against the immortals by being able to summon the Piledriver, a machine blessed by the sun and the earth with the ability to purify immortals and destroy them permanently. The sunflower is Django’s most trusted friend and source of guidance and hope. There is no telling where Django would have ended up if not for him.

Likewise, there is another important figure in Django’s life that deserves his own mention: his brother Sabata, the Dark Boy. Perhaps the only thing Sabata shares with his brother is his appearance and the sibling rivalry between them. The dark boy has a growing need to do battle with his brother, to prove himself to be the superior because of his control over all the elements, going as far as summoning bosses to do battle Django or fighting the solar boy himself. Even though the brothers find themselves at a standstill, there are numerous occasions when the two will work together to take down a greater evil. It’s not just jealousy or hate that motivates them to do what they do, either: it’s brotherly love. Sabata is the only living member of Django’s family, and as such, is the only remaining person Django can truly relate to, and just as the solar boy would do battle against the world to save his brother, the dark boy would do the same.

As independent and strong as Django is, he has a heavy reliance on his friends, especially Otenko and Sabata. There are times when the solar boy finds himself in an inescapable life or death matter, such as when he’s bitten by a vampire and begins turning into one or when he’s about to be devoured by Jormungandr. It was his rival and his brother who put his own life in mortal danger to save Django by purifying him with the piledriver, but it was the citizens of Django’s hometown that saved him from the jaws of death and Jormungandr. He isn’t afraid to ask for help when he knows he’ll need it, and there are plenty of times when he’ll need help.

Regardless of the kind of person he meets (and he’s met many kinds of people), Django will always listen to what they have to say. He’s not afraid of helping out a stranger if they need it, and though he may not speak often, he can still make an effort to befriend them. The only people he’ll hesitate towards are vampires or creatures of the night in general; Django hasn’t met one that he can trust and he isn’t sure he’ll ever meet one he can trust. Otherwise, anyone will be good to go. Oh, and he loves apples. They were the main source of healing in the first game, and he wouldn’t object to eating 10 sour apples (the weakest recovery item) at blinding speeds just to recover his health.

Abilities:
Solar child blood: Django descends from a group of people heavily tied in with the sun, and as such, is able to draw power from by being in its rays. Django uses this to refill the battery for his Gun Del Sol and to store up energy in his glove, the Sol De Vice, which he can use for magic and weapon enchantments. He can recover energy rapidly by raising his hand to the sun and shouting “taiyoooooh!”
Vampire curse(Black Django): During his second journey, Django is bitten by a vampire and becomes one, despite being purified by the piledriver. As a vampire, he can transform into a mouse, bat or wolf and can recover his own health by drinking the blood of others by sneaking behind them. He’s also able to use the power of darkness in this form, but cannot use the power of the sun. The third game gave him much more control over the power of darkness, so there’s no worry of him flipping out…yet.
Blessing of the Solar Tree (Sol Django): In an effort to save the solar boy from death, the solar tree granted him the ability to become the embodiment of the sun. It doesn’t offer as much as his vampire form, but it is said to be Django’s strongest form. He can dash at incredible speeds to attack others and jump on a foe to repeatedly kick them and regain energy. That’s right, he can GAIN ENERGY BY TAP DANCING ON PEOPLE’S FACES. FEAR THE POWER OF THE SUN!!

Entry Fee: His solar gun, the Gun Del Sol. It was passed down from his father, Ringo, and is one of the few mementos of him Django has, save for his scarf. It’s his main weapon and while he knows how to use others, having it stolen from him in canon dealt a blow to his hope.

Character

Name: Madame Foster
Source: Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends (OU)
Type: RGer
Canon Point: Sometime vaguely before "Destination Imagination"
History: Wiki Link, but I feel this page is insufficient so imma TL;DR about my observations of her history as revealed throughout the episodes and block party comics. Here we go!!

Madame Foster was born to wealthy parents who were appropriately prim and proper. Sometime when she was very young, she created an Imaginary Friend named Funny Bunny, who later became known/renamed as Mr. Herriman. Funny Bunny's purpose was to sing and dance for her, but she also would blame him for spills, messes and other bouts of childish mischief, so as not to get in trouble with her strict parents. The bunny was mortified by this and became obsessive about cleaning up her messes. Decades later, things are exactly the same - Even as an old lady, she sees the world through the eyes of a child and has not grown up even a little bit. It is seen as strange to not abandon your imaginary friend by a certain age, but Madame Foster has spent all of her years directing her adult responsibilities to Herriman and living a free life full of adventure and excitement.

But what a life she's had! While the details of her prime are not focused on, the existence of Frankie Foster shows that she has some sort of experience with motherhood as well as being a grandma. She also traveled the world at some point; she's mentioned that she would love to revisit the Samburu tribe in Kenya. A news report and a trophy room in the Foster Mansion reveal that Foster is regarded by others not only as a philanthropist, but as a national hero - She owns a gold placard granted by the U.S. President and even has her own holiday.

The Madame is by no means the sort of person who lost out on human interaction by indulging her fantasies. She has maintained a wide social circle - it's clear that she knows a lot of other old people, many of whom she's been friends with since her younger years. She has a rivalry with a woman named Jerkins that has been ongoing since high school, but while there may have been a serious grudge in the past it seems now they just do it for fun. Likewise, an old man named Rivers across the street from the house bickers with her daily and they have a habit of throwing things and punking each other, but he has a secret crush on her.

However, most notable is her founding of Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. In the canon, these friends, though imagined up by children, are as real as anyone else, and are treated somewhere between pets and people - they are mostly pets, but some are humanoid and they can get jobs and stuff so who knows. However, when a kid grows up, they are often forced to leave their friends behind, and Foster provides them with a place where they can stay for free until some other kid comes to adopt them. It was most likely initially founded by the inheritance money from Foster's rich parents, until Foster gradually squandered it away and they had to become a charity organization. The living conditions seem quite comfortable, but from the way Frankie acts, it seems the house is always barely treading on their funds and they are in constant need of donations. Foster usually lets Herriman and Frankie handle all of the boring things like that, though, and is herself probably a big factor in their financial woes considering that she has shown evidence of manic spending - she once spent all their funds on a giant golden vault with which to hold their funds. However, considering their funds were still enough to buy said giant vault, and they are still able to feed hundreds to thousands of imaginary creatures, it's safe to assume that her reputation has earned her some regular donors at least.

Another interesting thing of note that was brought up in the pilot but never heard of again - Foster's not only takes in imaginary friends, but it also locks away imaginary monsters called "Extremosauri" that were dreamed up by the more horrible kids. So there may be some implied behind-the-scenes badassery regarding the capturing and caging of these monsters. There is strong evidence that Foster is used to staring down dangerous creatures by herself - In the episode where the inhabitants of the house go camping, Foster fearlessly hypnotizes a grizzly bear with nothing but her gaze, and is later seen riding it as a mount as she commands everything else in the forest to do her bidding. Including the bees. Just think about those implications for a moment.

Personality:

Madame Foster is, at first glance, a sweet little old lady who calls people "dearie" and bakes the best cookies ever, all while living a sedentary lifestyle inside of her charity organization for the reality-impaired. This mental image is not quite correct. She is a lot feistier than her looks would have you believe, and a huge troublemaker when she wants to be. She follows whims irresponsibly, such as untying sentient balloons from their spot on the roof, letting them all sail helplessly into the sky. She has even straight-up robbed an 8-year-old boy by pickpocketing him during a long hug.

So, Madame Foster is not exactly nice at all. She is, however, a goodhearted person. It was her idea to create Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, which initially started with just one friend that she took in out of the kindness of her heart, and eventually just... spread to include all of the abandoned friends that found their way to the home, to becoming a full on orphanage with adoption papers and a system. She refuses to turn a resident of the house out into the cold, even if they are major nuisances to her and everyone around and she hates them. It's just against her principles. And those are strong principles too, because in most cases, in her own words "I don't like rules very much."

Additionally, she's just as prone to random acts of kindness as she is to random acts of cruelty - in one of the comics, Eduardo has a lucky penny that he finds missing, and it turns out Madame Foster took it so she could have it framed for him. A very random act indeed. I think that when she is randomly mean, it's mostly unintentional in a childish way. She can at times be very oblivious to the maliciousness of others, making her relatively easy to swindle or recruit as an accomplice to schemes. She's really quite pure.

Although a friend of Madame Foster's is a friend for life, she also will hold grudges for much longer than their reasonable statute of limitations, like hating her neighbor for decades because he never returned a borrowed cup of sugar. It seems that this is more because she thinks grudges are fun to hold, rather than actually being angry, though. She simply likes having a rival around to make her life more exciting.

Despite all of her kookiness though, it's clear that everyone in the house respects her. In the middle of a huge group argument during the pilot, all it took was the distant sound of her cane tapping against the ground to get everyone to fall silent, make way, and listen to her judgment. Foster is brave - when outside forces threaten the house or the imaginary friends, she will often take an active stance in defending against them.

As an old person, she cannot stand the notion of retirement - in particular, the inactive lifestyle it promotes. She believes life is for the living and that you should act your shoe size, not your age. Considering that Madame Foster's feet are really tiny, this could explain her total immaturity that she often displays. But honestly, she doesn't allow her age to get in the way of anything, be it keeping her imaginary friend, throwing wild parties, or streaking in the woods. Although she'll still use it as an excuse for not going up and down too many stairs, which is valid considering she does use a cane to walk.

Her favorite sweets are black licorice and violet flavored candy. She often tries to use adages, but half the time she completely screws them up. "I hear the early worm gets the hen!" "You'll take to that like a horse takes to molasses!" etc. etc.

Abilities: Foster does not have any specified supernatural abilities, however, she tends to operate on cartoon logic + either the rule of cool or the rule of funny. So you'll see her accomplishing crazy things like the aforementioned animal hypnotizing, or performing athletic maneuvers that are possible for human beings, just... you wouldn't ever expect a tiny old grandma to be able to pull them off. She also seems to have a sort of perception where she can judge what kind of an imagination a person has just by looking at them, but that is probably a learned wisdom that came from dealing with imaginary friends and their owners rather than any sort of magic.

Character

Name: Asakura Takeshi
Source: Kamen Rider Ryuki
Type: Reaper

Canon Point: His canon point is midway through episode 50 of the TV series, following his death after being gunned down by the police.

History: Wiki link is a go.

Personality: Put as simply as possible, Asakura is a terrible excuse for a human being. No other Rider revels in the Rider War quite so much as he does. His complete lack of compassion has led the other Riders on occasion to wonder if he might actually be a monster himself. He kills the other Riders with no remorse, and any time he is called out on his behavior, he laughs it off.

Asakura lives only for himself and his own pleasures, and he enjoys nothing more than fighting and causing pain. He frequently feels “vexed,” and the best way to burn off those vexations is to engage in various acts of destruction, whether or not it’s against others or, in some cases, even himself. When he is incarcerated, he will engage in various self-destructive behaviors such as beating his head against the bars of the cell just so he can try to work out his vexation. On another occasion, a reporter has found him injured and hiding out in an alley. He’s too weak to do much, but he asks her to beat him with a nearby pipe so that he can feel something. In a pinch, his own pain will work just as well as the pain he can inflict upon others. At times, Asakura’s rage towards his vexations seems to be more of an existential thing than anything else, as though he exists through destruction. He only feels alive when he is engaged in some act of violence or another.

Asakura's determination to keep on fighting carries over to extremes. Riders can only stay in the Mirror World for a limited amount of time, at which point their armor and bodies will start to break down. During a fight with Ryuki and Knight, Asakura pushes this to its limits, exhausting himself greatly. When the three of them finally emerge from Mirror World, he still won't let the fight go, chasing after the other two Riders with a length of pipe until he passes out in the middle of things. He will literally fight until he drops.

One thing Asakura is bad at is maintaining positive personal relationships with others. He has no close personal ties with anyone or anything. His family? They’re out of the picture, because he killed them. When he was thirteen years old, there was a terrible house fire that claimed the lives of both of his parents and, he thought, his younger brother, Akira. The fire was entirely Asakura’s fault, and it was started with the specific intent to kill his family because they annoyed him. Akira’s name was changed and he went to live elsewhere, leaving Asakura to think he was dead. Eventually, the brothers are reunited. Asakura has Venosnaker eat Akira, finishing the job of getting rid of his family. He laughs off anyone’s attempts to bring up any of the lies he fed everyone involved in setting up that meeting—there’s no guilt. He doesn’t seem to need other people outside of the entertainment they may be able to provide him, and he’s the sort who is rough on his toys.

Despite this, he can tolerate and work with other people for short periods of time if he has to. This works out better if he thinks they have similar goals--bigger and better fights--or if the other party has done him a favor. In one instance, when he's on the run from the police, he's helped out by Ren, Kamen Rider Knight. Ren helps Asakura by providing a getaway car and then later blowing up said car in an attempt to help Asakura fake his death. After this, Asakura's shown to be a bit more tolerant of Ren (i.e. hanging around him and only hitting inanimate objects with a pipe while he's bored and not hitting Ren), even going so far as to permit him to fight Ryuki without trying to take over despite wanting to kill Ryuki himself. He's also capable of being somewhat hospitable; when Kanzaki shows up to speak with him about fighting other Riders, Asakura's actually polite enough to offer him some food. Kanzaki's the one who gave him Ouja's power, and he can respect that.

Asakura can at times be very sly, and he knows how to tell people what they want to hear. When he’s incarcerated and separated from his Advent Deck, thus rendering him powerless, he still manages to escape from jail using his wits. This takes some doing, considering at this point in his confinement, he is very heavily restrained. The lawyer that’s been assigned to him is remarkably naïve, and Asakura’s able to play the man’s earnest desire to serve his client well into a successful escape. He tricks the lawyer into bringing him his personal effects inside the cell, which allows him to overpower the lawyer, switch clothing with him, and simply walk out of the prison.

In another instance, the time he killed Akira, he’d been wounded after a battle and wasn’t in very good shape as he hid out and tried to care for himself. A reporter who had been working on his story found him, and he was able to talk her into arranging a meeting with Akira. She’d revealed that his brother was still alive, and he was clearly surprised by this. He claimed that perhaps seeing his brother might be the only thing that could change or otherwise help him. He also said that he had risked his own life to save Akira’s the night of the fire, and he expressed great relief that Akira really had survived. He tells the reporter exactly what she wants to hear in a very convincing manner, and this allows him to carry out his true plan of finishing off his family.

This is not to say Asakura is a master manipulator. He can’t maintain a façade for long if he keeps becoming vexed. If it seems as though his manipulation is working, then he will force himself to be patient enough to see things through to the end. When it seems his plans are for naught, he’ll quickly spiral into out-of-control rage. Failure isn’t something he tolerates very well.

When his lawyer, Kitaoka, fails to prove him innocent, this causes Asakura to carry a huge grudge that sticks with him throughout the series. Kitaoka quickly becomes Asakura’s primary target, even though his continued targeting of the other man makes him rather predictable and easier for the police to recapture. He also knows Kitaoka won’t fall for any of his attempts at verbal manipulation, which means he won’t even try that on the lawyer.

In a fight, he’s not very tactical. He prefers using raw power to win, and he is very much a brawler. He does have a Steal Vent card that allows him to steal the weapons of another, but the only time he ever uses this is to disarm an opponent—he won’t adapt to another’s weapon and is comfortable enough with his own. This limits his potential strategies, which usually just boil down to “hit the other guy harder than he’s hitting you.” There’s no real sense of style to Asakura’s fighting; he just goes with whatever option he thinks will cause the most damage and give him the most pleasure. He’s pretty unstable, and it’s not really hard to just get him to go completely wild.

Asakura is a fearsome opponent in part because it seems like he has nothing to lose. He is close to no one and is fighting for no reason other than to fight. He alone out of all the Riders in the Rider War seems to revel in the very act of fighting. He doesn’t seem to fear injury or death in the slightest. He’s also aware that people find him unstable and intimidating, and he’ll use that to toy with his opponents. Toying with them in such a manner seems to be a source of great enjoyment for him.

He does what he wants when he wants. Although he generally quite enjoys fighting, he’ll set that aside for the moment to take care of his needs. On one occasion, he’s being challenged to a fight, but he’s sleepy…so he calmly refuses, rolls over, and goes to sleep right where he is. He’s totally unaffected by the other party’s anger towards him and is clearly unworried enough to go to sleep. If the other party had pressed the issue, it's likely Asakura would have revived, beaten the other into a pulp, and then gone to sleep like nothing at all had happened.

Abilities: Without any special powers, Asakura’s one true love, his most favorite past time, is fighting. This is not to say he’s actually practiced in any particular school of combat. He’s a straight-up brawler, and his style is wild and unrestrained. He will literally fight until he drops. He’s got a high tolerance for pain, and he is incredibly persistent.

With his special powers, Asakura has the ability to use his Advent Deck to transform into Kamen Rider Ouja. He requires a reflective surface in order to do so. Holding his Deck up to said reflective surface will cause a transformation belt to appear around his waist, at which point he may slot in the Deck and become Ouja.

He also requires a Contract Card for a Mirror Monster in order to properly transform. Asakura can transform into Ouja without the Contract Card, but it would be a Blank Form--still able to cause a bit of damage to a normal human, but vastly inferior to a Rider properly bonded to a Mirror Monster. His monster, Venosnaker, is a giant purple cobra that provides the thematic elements of Ouja's suit. With the Contract Card, Ouja can summon Venosnaker from any reflective surface.

Ouja is unusual among the Riders of his world in that he has contracted with multiple monsters, a result of his taking that which belonged to Kamen Riders Gai and Raia, whom he defeated. He possesses Contract Cards for Metalgelas (a rhinoceros monster) and Evildiver (a manta ray monster) in addition to Venosnaker's. They may also be summoned from any reflective surface just as Venosnaker might be, and if Ouja uses a Unite Vent card, he can fuse the three monsters into a creature called Genocider.

Ouja's other cards include:
- Sword Vent: Summons a sword reminescent of Venosnaker's tail
- Strike Vent: Summons Gai's rhinoceros-themed weapon
- Swing Vent: Summons Raia's whip
- Steal Vent: Takes another Rider's weapon

There is also a Final Vent card for each of the Contract Monsters and Genocider, which allows Ouja to execute a finishing attack in tandem with the chosen monster.

Name: Demyx
Source: Kingdom Hearts (OU)
Type: Player
Canon Point: Right after Sora kills him in Radiant Garden
History: http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/Demyx
Personality:
As a Nobody, Demyx technically has no emotions. However, like most of them, he has a front he presents to people. His is very different from the rest of the Organization, however, in that he acts happy and pretty carefree. He wants nothing more than to be left alone to his music, and hates to work while complaining that he’s an awful fighter.

He does a very good job of putting up this persona. More often than not, he’ll try to push any work on someone else or just run away from fights. Any time he’s seen in the mission room, he’s playing on his sitar. He does seem to like talking to other people, so long as they’re not being mean to him or making him do something he doesn’t want to.

Demyx is actually a very capable fighter, and his personality tends to shift quite a bit. He becomes a rather ruthless and somewhat mocking fighter (in that he’s still annoying cheerful while kicking your butt) who really doesn’t seem to have a problem with hurting people after all.
Abilities:
As do all the Nobodies, Demyx has the ability to use dark portals and summon Nobodies, mostly Dancers. He also has a weapon, albeit it an odd one, in the form of his sitar. He uses it to summon water as well, which he can use to make water clones of himself (and some that seemed to be shaped like music notes), blast into columns, and make spheres of water (he can probably use it in other ways). He also enjoys music (as much as he can enjoy it) and can often be seen rocking out on his sitar.
Entry Fee: His memory of life pre-heartless nomming/pre-Nobody
Starting Pin: Aqua Monster
Samples:
Sooooo let me see if I can get this straight.

I’m dead, right? That I definitely remember, ugh. But I’m not, like 100% totally irreversibly dead? And we’re supposed to play this game and maybe come back?

Is that supposed to make no sense? ‘Cause it doesn’t. But, you know, I’m not dead... completely, so not gonna complain! Actually winning sounds like a lot of work...
